About Lohi
Lohi means slow in Hawaiian. We're building a calm, kind Apple Watch companion that helps people enjoy their meals at an unhurried pace.
Lohi means "slow"
In Hawaiian, lohi means slow. We chose it because it says what we believe in a single, soft word: good things take their time, and meals are one of them.
Why we're building it
Most of us eat while doing something else: answering messages, watching a screen, thinking about the next meeting. The meal is over before we notice it started. We wanted a tool that brings the pause back without guilt, numbers or nagging.
What we believe
- Calm. Lohi moves slowly. Nothing jumps, flashes or shouts.
- Kind. We invite instead of scold. "Try a little pause", never "You're eating too fast".
- Light. No calorie counting, no weight goals, no streaks to protect.
Meet the honu
Our mascot is a small sea turtle, a honu, who never rushes a meal. Honu are a Hawaiian symbol of calm and long life, which felt just right.
Beyond the plate
Slow eating is where we start. Over time, Lohi will grow into a home for a slower, more present way of living: unhurried mornings, walks without a destination, evenings that end gently.
